NYCFC’s main factor against Seattle

After beating the Philadelphia Union, there’s only one factor that will come into play against the Seattle Sounders. The main factor for New York City F.C. today is momentum and they need it to continue.

Last week’s 3-2 win against the Union was huge, and  might have been the club’s biggest victory this season. With all three goals coming from each Designated Player, NYCFC shifted the momentum in their favor and they need to keep it that way against the Sounders.

Seattle won’t have the services of their key member Clint Dempsey. Despite United States‘ semi-final exit in the Copa America, the 33-year old will be out of action and NYCFC must exploit that opportunity. When a squad is missing arguable their best player while sitting in ninth place, they’re not at the right mindset.

For Patrick Vieira, he needs to put the same product he did against the Union with the same mentality. NYCFC put on a more attacking display and it was a joy to behold. With a damaged Sounders line-up, there’s no reason why NYCFC should go back home empty handed.

With 21 points and in third place, this is a great moment for the boys in blue to creep up right behind the Union and grab that second position from their rivals the New York RedBulls.

The Sounders’ leading scorer is Jordan Morris who has hit the net five times, not even half to David Villa‘s 11 goal tally for NYCFC.

If Vieira liked what he saw last week, then expect the same line-up.

NYCFC’s momentum will be the key factor coming into this match and it will determine the outcome. If they bring the momentum from last week, the NYCFC supporters will be tuning into another great match and hopefully–the boys head home with three points.
