Before he was New York City F.C.‘s captain, he was Spain‘s main striker and helped his nation lift the UEFA European Championship in 2008, 2012, and the FIFA World Cup in 2010. With this year’s Euro Cup kicking off today, why not stroll down memory lane.

David Villa helped Spain to many victories, especially in the qualifiers. With 97 caps, Villa netted 59 times making him Spain’s all-time scorer. He passed the legendary Raúl, the same player he got the number seven from.
