Katie Stengel makes the permanent move to Gotham FC
-Now, the forward has transferred from Liverpool to make Gotham her permanent home
On Wednesday, NJ/NY Gotham FC announced that Katie Stengel has permanently transferred from Liverpool FC. The forward initially joined the club via a short-term loan deal in July. However, her quick impact in a short period encouraged her and the team to make Gotham her permanent home.

Moreover, Stengel joins Esther González as a summer addition to the final third. Of course, Lynn Williams extended her contract as well. These moves imply that Gotham FC is serious about turning the club into a NWSL powerhouse. They are not looking for short-term players, for the former Liverpool player's new contract will keep her in the tri-state area through 2025.
Stengel has been with multiple clubs over the years, so she has a range of experience. The American has spent time in Germany, Australia, England, and the United States. Therefore, she can offer her experiences with the different clubs to aid her teammates for the rest of this season and the future.
So far, the forward has played and started in eight games in all competitions with Gotham. She has scored three times in those appearances. In addition, she has been the team's striker. As a result, there will likely be a competition between her and González for the number nine position, along with others in the club.
Gotham's head coach, Juan Carlos Amorós, had nothing but praise for Stengel.
"Katie is a dynamic attacking player for us, who can create scoring chances for herself and her teammates due to her quality and work ethic. She has impressed us from day one and has adapted really well to our style of play. We are excited that she will remain with the club and help Gotham FC to keep growing."

NJ/NY Gotham FC made another strong move by bringing in Stengel on a permanent transfer. Clearly, the short-term loan was a test to see if the forward would do well with the team. She has passed with flying colors, and now, the striker spot is hers to lose.
