The Women's World Cup has been insane. Shocking exits like Germany and incredible stories like Morocco have made the tournament incredible. Tears of happiness and sadness have been shed, and interesting results occurred.

NJ/NY Gotham FC had six players representing four different countries. Fans saw their players play for Brazil, Ireland, Nigeria, and the United States Women's National Team.

Now that the final matches are completed in the group round, it is time to check in on the Gotham players and see how they did.

Checking in on the Gotham players after the final group round games of the World Cup

Brazil- Bruninha

Bruninha was on the bench again for Brazil and did not see any game time in the final match. Her national team could not find the back of the net against Jamaica, leading to a 0-0 draw. As such, Brazil was knocked out of the World Cup.

Brazil finished in third place in Group F with four points.

Ireland- Sinead Farrelly

Sinead Farrelly received her third and final start for Ireland in the World Cup. The team already knew they were knocked out but still had the game to play. The forward played 90 minutes plus stoppage time in the 0-0 draw against Nigeria.

In the end, Ireland finished in fourth place in Group B, earning just a point.

Nigeria- Ifeoma Onumonu

Ifeoma Onumonu started on the bench for Nigeria; she came on in the 67th minute. As it is already known, her team tied with Ireland, 0-0.

Nigeria ended up finishing in second place in Group B, with a total of five points.

USWNT- Kristie Mewis, Kelley O'Hara, and Lynn Williams

Kristie Mewis did not make an appearance for the USWNT, but Lynn Williams started in the 0-0 draw against Portugal. She was a huge threat in the attack, but neither of the offensive players could find the back of the net. She was substituted out in the 84th minute, and then Kelley O'Hara was brought on during stoppage time. The Americans were heavily criticized for how they played, and moved on by the skin of their teeth.

After all three games, the USWNT finished Group E in second place with five points.

What is next for the Gotham FC players?

Nigeria will play England in the Round of 16 and the USWNT will face Sweden. Both teams have challenging fixtures to look forward to.
