Gotham FC vs Seattle Reign FC: How to watch, time, and more of late Monday game
- Gotham FC and Seattle Reign FC will face off in Washington
- Here is how to watch, the time, and more
After a tough game against the Houston Dash last weekend, NJ/NY Gotham FC will next travel out west to take on Seattle Reign FC. Many thought the Houston fixture would not be as difficult as it was, but the Bats were challenged despite winning 2-1. Now, they have another difficult match ahead of them as they are on the road and will battle it out with a hot Seattle team.
The Reign have won their last three NWSL games and have been playing much better football as of late. However, they still struggle defensively, for their recent two wins were 3-2 results. In total, Seattle has allowed the most goals with 32. On the other side, Gotham sits in second for the least amount of goals allowed with 16. Since the two sides both have 23 goals in the regular season, this fixture might come down to the defense, in which the Bats have the edge.
Heading into the game, Gotham will be without Katie Stengel, who just moved to Crystal Palace Women. At this time, it is safe to assume their current roster is the one they will have for the remainder of the season. Therefore, the best Starting XI should be utilized against Seattle. The NJ/NY team might be in fourth place and the Reign in eleventh, but again, the home side has been playing better over the last few games.
There is no question that this is a vital matchup for Gotham FC. And yes, every game is critical, especially as the regular season winds down. But a win in Seattle would remind everyone that they should not forget about them.

It will be interesting to see who will be on the injury report for Monday. Rose Lavelle and Ella Stevens were unavailable last week, so hopefully they will be ready to go. Lavelle’s presence in the midfield was especially missed against Houston.
