For the most part, May was a fantastic month for New York City FC. They ended up with 15 of 18 available points. They lost to the Colorado Rapids to start the month but then won five in a row. This included the home match against the New York Red Bulls, proving to everyone that New York is blue.

Meanwhile, NYCFC hopes the team will win and continue their hot streak in June. Nick Cushing will have to decide who he will go with at the striker position, for Alonso Martínez proved his value after his hat trick this past weekend. There is also the question about whether Kevin O'Toole is okay, for he was injured in the same game. At least they have a few weeks off due to the international break.

NYCFC will only play four matches in the month of June. Here is a look at the upcoming schedule that includes two home and two away games.

NYCFC's June 2024 schedule

Friday, June 14: NYCFC vs Columbus Crew

NYCFC will have another rare Friday home game after hosting the San Jose Earthquakes this past Friday. This time, they will welcome the reigning MLS Cup Champions, the Columbus Crew. The Ohio team is currently in seventh place but made a run to the Champions Cup final. The team has so much talent on their roster, including Cucho Hernández, Deigo Rossi, and Darlington Nagbe. They have also won their last three games in Major League Soccer. This will be a challenging home fixture where NYCFC has to be at the top of their game.

Wednesday, June 19: NYCFC vs LA Galaxy

The Pigeons will head on the road for a midweek battle against the LA Galaxy. The Juneteenth game will be a late one for those on the East Coast, but everyone will want to tune in. The fourth-place Galaxy has former FC Barcelona player, Riqui Puig, who has become an MLS star. Watching him and NYCFC's Santiago Rodríguez battle it out in the midfield will be interesting. Although, Maxi Moralez might be ready to start at this time, so this could become a midfield show.

Saturday, June 22: NYCFC vs Nashville SC

The Bronx side will stay on the road when they visit Music City to take on Nashville SC. Ideally, NYCFC will enter this match remaining in the top four of the Eastern Conference. They will also want to even the record with Nashville, for they are 1-2-1 in four MLS matches. However, the home team is not having their best year and has already seen a coaching change. They are still in a playoff spot at this time, so it will be interesting to see where the teams are entering June 22.

Friday, June 28: NYCFC vs Orlando City SC

NYCFC will play their final Friday game of 2024 when they welcome Orlando City SC to Yankee Stadium. This should be an entertaining fixture since the teams tend to play exciting games. It would be helpful if Cushing decides on the striker position by this time. He may resort to rotation regardless of who is performing since the summer will get busier from here. While no match is ever easy, this might be the easiest one of the June schedule when looking at where Orlando stands. The Florida team is not performing to their expectations, for they have a 4-7-5 record at this time. Never count them out though, for they did draw against Inter Miami CF and beat the Philadelphia Union on the road.
