As the 2016 Euro Cup rolls on, we take a look back at Andrea Pirlo‘s history in the competition. While he would’ve liked to add more memories this year, the New York City F.C. midfielder missed the 23-man cut and was excluded from Antonio Conte‘s set-up.

It’s never good to talk about the bad, so we’re going to praise Pirlo’s top three moments in the Euro Cup. Pirlo’s Euro Cup glories go all the way back when he was with Italy’s U-21 side and lifted the 2000 Euro trophy.

His biggest success came in 2006 when his country was on top of the world and lifted the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The Italian maestro has earned 113 caps for his country while netting 13 goals. Pirlo was never known to be a scorer, but he was remembered as an anchor in the midfield and till this day– he hasn’t changed.
