The final week of the regular season is finally here, and New York City FC and the rest of Major League Soccer are preparing for Decision Day. There are so many different outcomes that can occur by the time every single match ends, including in the Eastern Conference.

The Pigeons know they will finish in fourth, fifth, or sixth place. Where they finish will depend on the outcomes of their match against CF Montréal. In addition, the outcomes of the Orlando City SC and Charlotte FC games will matter.

Therefore, there are multiple aspects of Decision Day that NYCFC supporters should pay attention to and watch. But what are they?

NYCFC fans must focus on multiple items on Decision Day

NYCFC fans will have to pay attention to not only their own game but also the Orlando and Charlotte ones. A win would guarantee a fourth or fifth-place finish, pending the Florida team's result. A draw or loss would mean fifth or sixth based on the outcome of the North Carolina side's match.

Moreover, Charlotte is playing D.C. United and Orlando is playing Atlanta United FC. As such, CF Montréal fans will be watching those games too. They will also have to watch the outcome of the Philadelphia Union fixture. If the Canadian side does not win or draw against NYCFC, then they will have to hope these teams have results that are favorable to them. Montréal sits in ninth place, so anything less than a win will put them on the bubble with playoffs.

Depending on the scores at halftime, the Canadian team could be inspired if the matches are not going their way. That is why NYCFC supporters must pay attention to see whether the Bronx side can play their best for all 90 minutes. They cannot play one of those fixtures where they play strongly in one half and poorly in another.

Plus, it is vital to see who Nick Cushing chooses in the Starting XI. More likely than none, those players chosen will start in the first playoff match. At least, supporters would hope the head coach goes that route. They will want to finish as high as possible, and if Atlanta finds a way to beat Orlando on the road, a NYCFC win means the team gets the home advantage in the first round.

Meanwhile, will the Pigeons play more similarly to the Hudson River Derby match or the one against Nashville SC? In some ways, they were lucky to end the day with all three points after struggling throughout most of the 90 minutes against the Music City team. This is undoubtedly important to watch.

Every MLS team, with the exception of Toronto FC since they played all 34 games, will play on Decision Day. There are so many ways the Eastern Conference teams can end the regular season, including NYCFC. Fans will not want to miss Saturday's matches at all.
