NYCFC vs St. Louis City SC: How to watch their first MLS matchup

When New York City FC opened up the Major League Soccer season against Charlotte FC, supporters were unsure which direction the team would go.  The Pigeons were the stronger side, but the poor away record from last year was not far away.

In some ways, it was not shocking the Bronx team lost 1-0 to open the 2024 season.  It was a disappointing start and there is already some worry about the team.  Still, every game allows for a reset, and that is what NYCFC will seek to do when they face St. Louis City SC. 

This will be the first time the teams meet in the regular season.  It is a clean slate; anything can happen in the match.  The home side also struggled in their home opener last weekend.  They managed to grab a draw against Real Salt Lake.  However, during the week, they were knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions Cup, formerly known as the Champions League.  As such, St. Louis might be driven to break out against the Pigeons.

Hence, NYCFC must be ready for anything.  They do not know which team will show up.  Hopefully, the players will take less time to get into the match.  They need to start strong right away if they want to earn any points on the road.  Ideally, Mounsef Bakrar or Jovan Mijatović will find the back of the net.
