New York City FC is having a great stretch in the season.  They recently won three games in a row, where two matches were on the road.  Of course, the Hudson River Derby win was the best one, for nothing is better than beating the New York Red Bulls.

Now, NYCFC heads to Massachusetts to face the New England Revolution for the second time this year.  The Pigeons won the home fixture 2-0 back in April.  Meanwhile, the Revolution has struggled immensely, where they sit in last place in the Eastern Conference.  Their rough times could be a gift for the Bronx side.  There is positivity that they could win another one on the road.

Meanwhile, it will be intriguing to see what Nick Cushing does with his Starting XI, especially in the final third.  One can assume Hannes Wolf will get the start, but who will the other winger be?  Who will start as the striker?  Will Cushing keep the same front three as the derby?

This should be another exciting match for NYCFC.  Here is a preview of the upcoming battle with the New England Revolution.

Date

NYCFC and the Revolution will play each other on Saturday, May 25.

Time

The game is at 7:30 PM ET.

Location

The match will take place in Foxborough, MA at Gillette Stadium.

How to watch

Fans can watch the match on Apple TV via the MLS Season Pass.

Weather

After multiple games of rain, NYCFC should finally play a dry fixture.  As of now, it should be a beautiful night. It will be about 71 degrees and partly cloudy at kickoff.

Injury report

Maxi Moralez (right knee), James Sands (yellow card accumulation), and Rio Hope-Gund (right leg) are all out for Saturday.  There is still a lack of information surrounding Hope-Gund’s injury.

Players to watch

Since Sands will be out, NYCFC fans can expect Andrés Perea to start.  Therefore, they should pay attention to the midfielder.  Perea is more likely to go forward while still maintaining his defensive abilities.  It would not be shocking, especially if the Pigeons dominate, for him to have a shot or two.

Supporters should also watch Carles Gil.  The Spanish player continues to be one of the few bright lights for New England in their terrible season.  He is a threat on goal and his ability to provide chances makes him the most dangerous player the Pigeons will play against.

Prediction

After some great wins, NYCFC can easily keep the good times going.  That is why the prediction is that they will win 2-0.  They will take advantage of the Revolution’s struggles.  Matt Freese will also get the clean sheet.
