New York City FC has had a busy week news-wise. There is plenty to talk about, so here is the latest news roundup regarding the Pigeons.

The NYCFC news roundup: Miami, Segal, and the movies

NYCFC played Inter Miami in a friendly and won

NYCFC played Inter Miami CF on Friday in an unnecessary friendly. The evening's focus was on Lionel Messi, who won his eighth Ballon d'Or. Despite already finishing the season, the Pigeons played their final game of 2023.

The team ended up spoiling the celebratory night. They beat Miami 2-1 thanks to goals from Talles Magno and Julián Fernández. Plus, Matt Freese had a superb night between the sticks. He ensured that NYCFC walked out with a win.

Gabriel Segal is home!

Gabriel Segal originally went out on loan to Hapoel Tel Aviv Football Club in September. He was supposed to stay there until the end of the Israeli Premier League season.

However, the league suspended play due to the ongoing conflict in the region. Fans were wondering whether Segal would return home. Thankfully, NYCFC announced that he is back with the club. The striker was even available off the bench in the Miami match.

It is good that Segal is home and safe. Hopefully, the club can find a way to ensure he earns minutes over the next year.

NYCFC went to the movies

NYCFC players and supporters came together to attend a special screening of the movie, Next Goal Wins. Some of the players who were there include Keaton Parks, Mounsef Bakrar, and Justin Haak. It is difficult to tell whether the entire team was there, but it appears most of them attended the movie.

This was a fantastic way for New York City FC to interact with the fans and enjoy a fun night out with the team.
