Recently, New York City FC released their anticipated first-ever third kit. The Parks Kit was done in connection with NYC Parks and highlights the numerous parks around the five boroughs. The new jersey is predominantly liked by supporters. In addition, it was an intelligent move by the club.

However, NYCFC was not finished. On Monday, the team announced a collaboration with NYC Parks and Only NY to release new clothing. The apparel collection was inspired by "the classic and old-school PSA cartoons from the 80s and 90s, vintage tourist merchandise, collegiate tees, patches and signage found throughout New York City’s parks."

The clothing will allow fans to have NYC Parks clothes that represent NYCFC and the city. It is also inspired by the "World’s Game in New York City’s public spaces", which is fantastic marketing for now and the future. In other words, the Pigeons' new stadium will open in Queens in 2027. The borough is nicknamed the World's Borough due to the diversity among the neighborhoods. Therefore, the team is trying to use that as much as possible.

The new apparel is a great addition to what is already offered by NYCFC. Like the Parks Kit, it is different and unique. It also allows the continuation of highlighting NYC Parks. The green spaces are vital for the craziness of the city. Plus, it acts as a thank you to the workers within NYC Parks. There would be a lack of beauty within the concrete jungle without them.

The new clothes were officially released Tuesday at Only NY's Flagship Greenpoint Store. Then, they will be available online via the MLS Store and Only NY's website on Thursday, August 24.

Whether fans will buy the collection is yet to be seen. The few pictures released so far have some cool shirts and sweatshirts. The prices can also determine whether many flock to make purchases.

The collaboration is an unexpected one. The Pigeons did a good job continuing the focus on the parks. Of course, when all is said and done, the new clothes will not fix the problems that plague New York City FC this season.
