NJ/NY Gotham FC is almost done with the preseason. The ladies will begin the 2024 campaign in less than two weeks, where they will try to repeat as the NWSL Champions. Additionally, there are quite a few new players, including USWNT stars. It should be an exciting season.

Since the season is starting in the middle of the month, there are only a few fixtures Gotham will participate in. Nonetheless, there are some exciting ones, including the NWSL Challenge Cup to open the NWSL season.

Here is a look at the March schedule for Gotham FC.

The Gotham FC schedule for March

Friday, March 15: Gotham FC vs the San Diego Wave

Gotham FC will open the season by playing the San Diego Wave in the NWSL Challenge Cup. The tournament has become a one-match final between the NWSL Champions and NWSL Shield winners. The Bats will play the match at home, so they will already have the advantage. It should be an exciting game though, for the two sides have extremely talented squads. They are also expected to compete for first place this season. In the end, the winner will be the one who makes the least amount of defensive errors.

Sunday March 24: Gotham FC at Portland Thorns FC

The Bats will officially open their NWSL campaign when they take on Portland Thorns FC. Gotham last saw Portland when they beat them in the NWSL semifinals. As such, the home side is expected to attempt to take revenge. The visitors must be on top of their game to steal three points. It will also be Crystal Dunn's first time returning to her former club. It will be interesting to see how the midfielder plays during the match.

Saturday, March 30: Gotham FC at the North Carolina Courage

Gotham FC will finish the month when they play against the North Carolina Courage. This was the team they beat in the NWSL quarterfinals, so, interestingly, they are facing two of the three playoff teams to start the season. Nonetheless, this should be a little easier away game for the NJ/NY team. North Carolina is full of talent, so they cannot take the pedal off the gas.
