Gotham FC vs C.F. Monterrey Femenil: How to watch, time, of home Champions Cup game
- Gotham FC will play the second of three games in seven days
- The Bats will take on C.F. Monterrey in the Champions Cup
- Here is how to watch, the time, and more
After a defeat to the Orlando Pride, NJ/NY Gotham FC has won their last three games in all competitions. The team has been playing well and will look to continue their form on Thursday. The Bats will host C.F. Monterrey Femenil in their first home CONCACAF W Champions Cup game. This should be a fun matchup. In addition, this will be the fixture that illuminates whether Gotham has a strong chance to finish at the top of the group.
Gotham FC already beat LD Alajuelense in a dominating fashion and recently dominated against Seattle Reign FC in the NWSL. The ladies will want to do the same thing against the Liga MX Femenil team. Monterrey is a tough team though. They are currently in third place in league play and have not lost a match. Last season, they finished in fourth place during the Apertura and third in the Clausura.
Moreover, Monterrey likes to score goals, and have multiple games with four or more on the scoresheet. Gotham must be at their best defensively. At the same time, it would be ideal to score as many goals as possible. The NJ/NY side’s backline is one of the best in the NWSL, but the players can be vulnerable. Hence, it would be smart to score early. Perhaps the team can score four like they did in the first Champions Cup fixture.
It will also be interesting to see how Juan Carlos Amorós rotates the squad. This will be the second game of three within seven days, so heavy rotation is expected. Regardless of who plays, the depth of Gotham FC’s squad means the head coach has plenty of options for a strong Starting XI.
