As New York City FC enters March, the team is 0-1-0 after losing their first match of the 2024 season against Charlotte FC. There is some hope, especially with the home opener on the horizon. However, concerns remain early on in the Major League Soccer season.

The Pigeons will have a busy month ahead of them as they will play five fixtures in March. Three games will be away, while the other two will be at home.

Here is a look at the March schedule for NYCFC.

The NYCFC schedule for March

Saturday, March 2: NYCFC at St. Louis City SC

NYCFC will play against St. Louis City SC for the first time in MLS. Both teams will enter March after suffering losses, for the youngest MLS side was knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions Cup by Houston Dynamo FC. Both sides will want to win, but can the Bronx team forget they are away from home and earn a rare three points on the road?

Saturday, March 9: NYCFC vs the Portland Timbers

The Pigeons will play their home opener against the Portland Timbers. This will be a rare afternoon match. The teams last saw each other in 2023, where the game finished in a 1-1 draw. This time around, three points are a must. This is especially the case since it would not be a good look to lose or draw in the first fixture at home.

Saturday, March 16: NYCFC vs Toronto FC

NYCFC likes to play Toronto FC as of late. Their last fixtures ended in 5-0 and 3-0 wins. Since the Canadian team does not look to be stronger in 2024, fans will expect another big win at home. If Jovan Mijatović has not scored by this match, then this would be one he could grab his first goal with the club.

Saturday, March 23: NYCFC at FC Cincinnati

The match in Cincinnati will likely be the most difficult one in March. The tides have turned since NYCFC's unbeaten run against FC Cincinnati ended last year. The Orange and Blue won in the three 2023 meetings. The Supporters' Shield winners are a threat to compete for the award again, so the Boys in Blue must play their best football to win any points.

Saturday, March 30: NYCFC at Inter Miami CF

NYCFC's March schedule will end in Florida when they play Inter Miami CF. Lionel Messi's team might appear threatening at first. However, after the friendly win from last year, Nick Cushing's team knows they can beat the Herons. The road woes might haunt the Pigeons, but this might be one match on the road where success is possible.
