How to watch Gotham FC’s second-ever game against Denver Summit FC

NJ/NY Gotham FC has not won in their last two games. However, after the draw with Portland Thorns FC, the Bats officially broke their record for the club’s longest unbeaten streak of ten matches. That is a brilliant accomplishment, especially when fans look back at the history of the team. There were multiple poor seasons, and to some, the NJ/NY side was seen as the easy team to face.

Now, that is not the case, and Gotham FC will head to Colorado to face Denver Summit FC for their second-ever meeting. The Bats will not only want to continue the unbeaten run with a win, but they will also want revenge. Denver won the opposite fixture, but as supporters will recall, that match was during the rough start to the season.

That does not guarantee that Gotham will win, though. The Summit is having a decent inaugural season, as the team sits in tenth place as of Friday night with a 7-8-6 record. Four points separate them from the final playoff spot. Additionally, they are coming off their best match of 2026, in which they beat Chicago Stars FC 6-1. It would not be entirely shocking if the Colorado side had a late run to fight for the postseason.

Gotham FC knows that the pressure is on. Other teams are chasing them, and sometimes players can be affected when they realize they need to continue winning, especially if they want to win the NWSL Shield. If that happens, then their unbeaten streak could easily come to an end this weekend. Ideally, a plate of three points and revenge will be ordered instead.

Final notes

Once again, this will be a reunion of sorts. Delanie Sheehan and Yazmeen Ryan, who left the club before the 2025 campaign, both play for Denver. It will be nice to see them again, but ideally, they will not play well. Still, both are having fantastic seasons, and with other great players like Lindsey Heaps and Janine Sonis, Gotham FC must be at the top of their game.
