Unquestionably, NJ/NY Gotham FC has turned things around when it comes to their results.  After starting the year 1-2-2, the team is now 4-2-3.  Their winning streak ended at three games last weekend when they shared the points with Boston Legacy FC, but they remain unbeaten in their last four.  As such, the NJ/NY side would like to keep it that way when they head out to the West Coast to take on Seattle Reign FC.

The Washington team sits in eighth place compared to Gotham FC’s fifth, and four points separate the two sides.  The difference is that the Reign has not won in their last four fixtures, and they have not scored.  The Bats know what it is like to play multiple matches without a goal, but since the opposing side is the one struggling, it would be ideal for them to take advantage of Seattle’s issues in front of the goal.

At the same time, since this is Gotham’s last NWSL game before the CONCACAF W Champions Cup, one can assume that Juan Carlos Amorós will rotate his starting lineup this time around.  He has been mostly consistent over the last few games, where he only made changes due to injury.  With another trophy on the line, it is possible some of the younger players might earn an opportunity to start.  It would be great to see Lilly Reale back in the lineup as well.

Ideally, Gotham will end the night with all three points.  After all, after the Champions Cup, there will only be one more game before the NWSL pauses for the summer break and part of the World Cup.  The team will want to continue their form entering the break, rather than finishing with just okay results.
