2026 has not gone as expected for New York City FC. Injuries that sometimes left ten players on the list, a lack of a striker, and awful mistakes that were self-inflicted have caused the year to be one fans wish they could forget. And now, with seven games remaining from October 10 through November 7, the Bronx side has very little time to turn things around.

There are only three more games at home and four road fixtures, which does not matter with NYCFC's awful home record. Moreover, four of the seven matches are against teams currently in a postseason position. As such, the mountain to climb over the next month is a high one. The Pigeons might not make it over the top, but since they sit in ninth place, there is still a chance to extend their Major League Soccer season beyond Decision Day.

So, here is a look at the schedule for NYCFC's final regular-season games.

NYCFC's October and November schedule

Saturday, October 10: NYCFC at Chicago Fire FC

October does not start off easy, as NYCFC will face Chicago Fire FC on the road. Sure, the Windy City side had a tough September, where they went 1-2-2. But the Fire will want revenge on the Pigeons after the Bronx side won at Yankee Stadium back in July. Plus, while Hugo Cuypers is no longer a threat due to his summer departure, Robert Lewandowski surely is. He has scored six goals since joining Chicago in the summer and will likely be the biggest threat in the game.

Wednesday, October 14: NYCFC at Inter Miami CF

Chicago will be hard, but the most difficult match of the final games will be against Inter Miami CF. This will finish the three-game road trip, but NYCFC will have to find a way to compete with Lionel Messi and friends. Last time, the Queens team gave the Florida side a run for their money. They had the lead for a couple of minutes, but the Herons scored twice after to get the win. The Boys in Blue had also had a good start to the season when they played back in March. With the current trend, it would not be shocking if the team suffers a terrible loss.

Saturday, October 17: NYCFC vs LAFC

The match against Los Angeles FC has been moved around a few times. It was at first originally on October 17 before it was moved to May 6, but then it was moved to November 4 before finally settling on October 17, the original date. This is another game that will not be easy. LAFC is not having their best season, but the team sits in sixth place in the Western Conference. The Boys in Blue would have to play superbly good football if they want to beat the California side.

Saturday, October 24: NYCFC at Orlando City SC

If there is one road game that the Bronx side would love to win, then it would be the one against Orlando City SC. The team had the best win of the season earlier in the year against Orlando, but they have not won any games like that afterward. At this moment, with one point separating the two sides, this could be an extremely important game if the Boys in Blue are still in a playoff position.

Wednesday, October 28: NYCFC vs Atlanta United FC

NYCFC had two leads when they last faced Atlanta United FC, and truthfully, should have won. But based on how they played, maybe the Pigeons could win this time at home with their supporters. If they play a clean game and score at least a few goals, then the match should end with a victory.

Saturday, October 31: NYCFC vs CF Montréal

The final home game of the season will be against CF Montréal on the spookiest day of the year: Halloween. In some ways, this is a great thing, as the match will be on a Saturday afternoon. At the same time, with Halloween falling on a Saturday, some fans might not want to miss out on a day of scary fun. Perhaps the Pigeons could encourage fans to attend the historic final home match of a full season at a baseball stadium, as the next season will be the MLS Sprint Season. And more importantly, hopefully the Queens team can end the four-game losing streak against the last-place side.

Saturday, November 7: NYCFC at D.C. United

Decision Day will be on the road, and this could be a critical game if NYCFC keeps themselves within a postseason spot. If current trends continue, then the Boys in Blue might be out of the mix, and the game against D.C. United might not mean anything. Nevertheless, fans would appreciate it if the season ends with a win and three points, because even if they are not in the playoffs, nothing stinks more than ending the year on a sour note.
