Last week, New York City FC and the rest of Major League Soccer released the schedules for the 2027 Sprint Season. The Boys in Blue have a lot to look forward to with the short campaign, as they will be one step closer to the move to Etihad Park. It will be sad to say goodbye to the original home, Yankee Stadium, but the excitement of moving across the street to Citi Field is growing.

This is especially true since NYCFC only had one more game this season, as they were knocked out of postseason contention this past weekend. Hence, there are no competitive games until February, after Decision Day.

With 14 games that are all against fellow Eastern Conference sides, there are plenty of matches to look forward to. So, here are three fixtures that fans should look forward to in 2027.

NYCFC games to circle on the calendar

Philadelphia Union- Saturday, March 6

If one were to talk to NYCFC fans, then they would probably wish that their season was similar to what the Philadelphia Union did in 2026.  The team went from one of the worst teams in MLS to one of the best.  But when Philadelphia comes to the Bronx, the Boys in Blue must prevent them from winning in the Big Apple.

Since 2021, they have only won once at home against the Union.  It is time to turn that page before they move into their new home.

New England Revolution- Saturday, April 17

After the tough home loss to the New England Revolution in 2026, NYCFC will be seeking revenge when they travel there in 2027.  While the Pigeons will want to win every game that they can, this is one to circle on the calendar.   A win against New England, especially if the team is in a tough spot, could act as a spark for the final games of this short season.

New York Red Bulls- Saturday, March 8

Of course, the most anticipated game of the Sprint Season is the one against the New York Red Bulls.  This will be the final regular-season game at Yankee Stadium and the final Hudson River Derby.  This is a fitting way to have the final Decision Day in a baseball stadium, and one can assume that fans will come out in full force.  At least that is the hope.

Ideally, the game will end in a win. NYCFC does not want to end the era of baseball stadiums with a loss, especially against their rival.  Hence, fans will be the most excited and the most nervous about this match.
