Once again, New York City FC has a short turnaround after their match against Atlanta United FC. An extremely rotated squad saw the team go down 2-0 in the first half. Unlikely scorers Mounsef Bakrar and Talles Magno scored in the second half to tie the game. While the Pigeons needed the win, the draw was a rare one that did not feel like a loss.
Now, NYCFC must face Orlando City SC again. They have already beaten them 4-2 back in June. However, this will be on the road, and the Florida team is slowly climbing up the table. They have won their last four games since losing in the Bronx, so the visitors will have another tough challenge ahead of them.
Hopefully, Wednesday’s 2-2 draw will inspire the squad to score more goals and get the win. Two or three points after four games on the road is not the way to go, so everyone must step up. Ideally, Nick Cushing will give Magno minutes. The Brazilian shined when he came on as a substitute against Atlanta, impacting the match through his passing and dribbling skills. He was also the reason they won the penalty kick and then scored the tying goal.
Meanwhile, NYCFC will need Matt Freese to have a similar game after he made seven saves against the Five Stripes. It would be nice to have Thiago Martins back in the lineup as well, for he was missed. This has to be one of the best defensive games though, for Orlando has scored 13 goals in their last four games. Fans also saw how they tried to create a comeback at Yankee Stadium. It is vital for the Pigeons to not make any mistakes.

Final Notes
When NYCFC last played Orlando, they did not have to deal with Pedro Gallese between the sticks. The goalkeeper has been problematic for the Pigeons, so it is questionable whether they can reproduce the goals scored in the home fixture.
