NYCFC vs Inter Miami CF: How to watch and time of Sunshine state match

New York City FC has struggled on the road after losing to FC Cincinnati last week.  Since 2023, they have only won one regular season away fixture, for the friendly they played in November sadly does not count.

In fact, that friendly against Inter Miami CF was a game that some thought would preview more of what NYCFC could do on the pitch in 2024.  It was a convincing performance against Lionel Messi’s team, whereas both sides played with a regular-strength squad.

Subsequently, this gave the impression that the Pigeons could beat the Herons, regardless of whether the pink team’s stars were in the Starting XI.  This does not seem possible as the Bronx side heads to Fort Lauderdale to take on Miami for the first time this season.  The poor record and road woes have dampened fans’ spirits, and many expect the team to return with zero points.  As the saying goes, anything can happen.  However, the major lack of confidence could be spreading among the players too.

While Nick Cushing will have multiple players who were on national team duty back, the injuries continue to pile up.  Birk Risa has a foot injury and Kevin O’Toole is still in concussion protocol.  This might be the time to give Christian McFarlane a chance at left-back, but the absence of Risa will probably be notable.  In addition, Talles Magno will be out again, but at least he is training on the side.
