NYCFC's 2022 away kit leaks on social media

MLS clubs have begun releasing alternate uniform kits that they will be wearing in the upcoming season. New York City FC is no exception to this, and have announced a reveal of their new away kits for tomorrow, February 18.

However, there seems to have been a premature reveal, as pictures showing what is expected to be the new away uniform began leaking on social media Thursday morning.

Images of NYCFC's 2022 away kit have leaked on social media

Season ticket holders of the reigning MLS Cup champions entered a drawing in hopes of attending a season kickoff event on February 27, the day NYCFC open up their 2022 MLS regular season campaign. Those entered in the drawing were apparently sent a follow-up email that contained an image of the supposed new, orange-based kits.

The most notable feature of the leaked jerseys, besides the orange base, it a blue lightning bolt that runs down the side. The bolt has drawn resemblance to that used in Shazam.

While the kit hasn't been officially announced by NYCFC — the announcement is slated for tomorrow — it seems that one Adidas store might've pulled the trigger a tad too early. One user on Twitter posted images of an apparent replica of the kit being sold already. Looks like this might indeed be the real thing.
