The ratings for the substitutes and more

Samantha Hiatt – 6.5

Samantha Hiatt was called unexpectedly with Davidson’s injury and did the best she could despite the circumstances. However, a handball in the box led to a penalty kick made by Ashley Hatch to extend Washington’s lead, which is a moment she would like to forget.

Crystal Dunn – 8

Crystal Dunn gave it her all in just 30 minutes of play, completing all but two of her passes. She also created one chance while making a few plays in the final third. However, given the short time, she was not able to help the team much. After a promising performance, Dunn could be considered for a starting role next week.

Nealy Martin – 7

Martin provided some fresh legs and helped produce 10 accurate passes in 24 touches with two recoveries.

Ella Stevens – 5

Not much to say here as Stevens saw just 15 minutes of play for her first appearance since March 30, playing in just 29 minutes this season.

Maycee Bell – 7

Bell made her NWSL debut with an appearance off the bench for Gotham. She was able to make three recoveries while winning a tackle on 15 touches in just 15 minutes.

Player of the match: Emily Sonnett

Despite all the ugly, Sonnett held it down for Gotham FC in an impressive performance. This is just a statement to the team that she is not only here to play, but will be the leader on the field. Her passing was solid and covered a lot of ground, especially with all the pressure from the Washington attack. As mentioned, with a healthy Lavelle back in the lineup, Gotham’s attack will surely wake up while their midfield issues are set to improve soon.
