NJ/NY Gotham FC is slowly improving their season. After a slow start, the Bats are unbeaten in their last six matches, winning four and drawing two. They ended May with a fantastic win over Bay FC, beating the newest team 2-0 thanks to goals from Ella Stevens. Things appear to be moving in the right direction.

However, the team will have a busy and somewhat challenging June schedule when Gotham returns to play after the international break. Thankfully, four of their five games will be at home. Of the five fixtures, three are below the playoff line as of today. There is so much talent though that the Bats will have to face. That is why one cannot assume this will be an easy stretch, for the standings move back and forth throughout the season.

Gotham FC will return to play this weekend. Here is a look at the upcoming schedule for June 2024.

The June 2024 schedule for Gotham FC

Saturday, June 8: Gotham FC vs Angel City FC

Gotham FC will begin June with a home game. They will welcome Angel City FC for their Pride celebration. The visitors are in eleventh place but are extremely threatening with their talent. Forwards Claire Emslie, Sydney Leroux, and Alyssa Thompson are the biggest threats on Angel City. Emslie leads the team with five goals. They are still struggling, so the Bats' defense should have the edge where they could end up with a clean sheet.

Saturday, June 15: Gotham FC vs Racing Louisville FC

The one June road game for Gotham FC will be against Racing Louisville FC. The sides shared the points earlier in the season and are separated by six points, with Racing in the last playoff spot at this time. Gotham is playing better from their previous meeting but will be in enemy territory. Hence, this fixture could go either way.

Wednesday, June 19: Gotham FC vs San Diego Wave FC

After the Racing match, Gotham will return home for the rest of the month for a three-game homestand. The first opponent will be San Diego Wave FC. The NJ/NY team earned their first-ever point against the Wave when the teams met in May, drawing 1-1. Hence, they will want to take one step further by winning for the first time. The ladies will have to score more than one goal to have a chance. San Diego continues to struggle, where they are 0-1-1 in their last two games since playing Gotham FC. This might be the fixture where the home team can finally earn all three points.

Sunday, June 23: Gotham FC vs Washington Spirit

The last time Gotham FC faced the Washington Spirit, the team played one of their worst matches of the season. The Bats lost 2-0 and were lost on the pitch. It was the last time they lost this season, subsequently starting their unbeaten streak right after. Hence, when the D.C. team comes up on I-95, the NJ/NY side will want revenge and to come out on top. The visitors are in third place with a record of 8-3-0. This will be one of the more dangerous fixtures in June, especially with the Spirit's Ouleymata Sarr and her goal-scoring threat.

Sunday, June 30: Gotham FC vs Seattle Reign FC

Gotham FC will finish the month with a fixture against Seattle Reign FC. As everyone knows, the Bats beat the side formerly known as OL Reign in the NWSL Championship. Fans should expect the Washington team to fly over seeking revenge. Although, despite a decent season last year, they are in 13th place at the time this was written. With seven points, one can only wonder whether they will turn things around as Gotham did. If the struggles continue, then there is a huge chance to come out with three points.
