NJ/NY Gotham FC has had an okay start to the 2024 season. The Bats lost in the Challenge Cup and then are 1-1-0 in the regular season thus far. Winning once and losing once on the road in the NWSL is not a bad start, but the squad is expected to be dominant this season. The roster has improved with the new signings, especially the USWNT ones.

Due to the international break, Gotham will only play three games in April, including their NWSL home opener. This will hopefully lead to the return of some of the injured players, which could have contributed to the loss in North Carolina.

Let's take a look at the upcoming April schedule for Gotham FC.

Gotham FC's April schedule

Sunday, April 14: Gotham FC vs the Kansas City Current

After the international break, Gotham FC will welcome the Kansas City Current for the NWSL home opener. The visitors have won all three of their games, making them a surprising top contender early on in the season. Moreover, they have scored 11 goals already. The Bats have one lone goal in their two matches. As such, this will be a challenging fixture on the defensive end. This will also be an exciting team to have in the home opener. If Gotham plays how they should on paper, then this can be a back-and-forth affair.

Saturday, April 20: Gotham FC at the Washington Spirit

The Washington Spirit is perfect at home in 2024. It might be a small sample size, but Gotham FC will have a difficult task when they visit Audi Field. With players like Trinity Rodman, Andi Sullivan, and Ashley Hatch, the D.C. team is extremely threatening. The Bats need their goal-scorers to be at the top of their game if they want to leave with any points.

Sunday, April 28: Gotham FC vs Racing Louisville FC

Gotham FC and Racing Louisville FC met one another in the preseason in Colombia. The NJ/NY team came out on top 3-1 to win the match and the Women's Cup. Notably, this was during the CONCACAF Gold Cup, so the team did not have all of their players. Meanwhile, Racing Louisville has yet to win this year, drawing in every match. Since this is a home game for the Bats, it is expected they will win. Of course, the visiting team can change the tide when this fixture occurs. Right now, this is the least difficult game of the month.
