How to watch NYCFC and Nashville SC in the final game before the World Cup break

There is a dark shadow over New York City FC as the team heads into the final game of the road trip and the last one until July. Maxi Moralez ruptured his ACL, meaning that the club legend might have played for the Boys in Blue for the final time. Then, the team could have eight or more players on the injury report. Hence, it is difficult to believe that they could beat one of the best teams in Major League Soccer, Nashville SC.

The Music City side sits in first place in the Eastern Conference and in MLS as a whole. They are having a much stronger season compared to last year, and as long as there is no disruption, they could easily have more than 70 points by the end of the campaign. Record-wise, this will be an extremely difficult match for the Pigeons, and based on the current injuries, Nashville has a much higher chance of winning.

It does not matter that NYCFC did well against their opponents in 2025. The Bronx team had a comeback draw on the road and then beat them at home in another comeback fashion. Often, recent history can help with confidence. But this time, it would not be shocking for the players to be shells, playing to the motions and just trying to survive another fixture without any more injuries.

Unquestionably, the players are probably drained by now as well. NYCFC had midweek games in five of the last six weeks. In addition, playing six games from May 3 to May 23 is awful. The congestion of the games is understandable to an extent. However, April and May have seen way too many games. The same goes for Nashville, but they have been better off with their health.

As mentioned, NYCFC might be exhausted entering the game, and the same goes for Nashville. This could be a matchup that lacks the entertainment that fans want. It might also end in an awful loss that could leave everyone in sky blue with a sour taste in their mouth as the World Cup break begins.
