How to watch NYCFC’s August road game against Toronto FC and more information

New York City FC has not won in their last four Major League Soccer games, losing twice and drawing twice. This all started with the home draw against Toronto FC, and since then, they have only won once in seven games in all competitions. It has not been the best time for the Boys in Blue, but at the very least, they shared the points with the New England Revolution in the last match and held on to the draw.

Alas, the Pigeons will remain on the road when they face Toronto FC. The draw at home was the first time NYCFC dropped any points against the Reds since April 2023. Then, they lost to the Canadian side. However, they won the remaining games that year and swept the series in 2024 and 2025. So, they will want to get back on track with their solid record against the team.

The problem at hand, though, is that Toronto is 2-0-1 in their last three fixtures. They beat Inter Miami CF and New England, two top teams. The draw was with Charlotte FC. Hence, NYCFC should be worried since their opponents might be turning things around. Of course, it has only been three matches. Still, that makes the team even more dangerous than the last meeting.

So, can the Bronx side come away with any points from up north? Or will the Reds take advantage of their current run and earn their first win against NYCFC in over three years? It might depend on who is available to start the fixture, and which players Pascal Jansen ultimately chooses to utilize.

Final notes

Listen, there is something wrong with NYCFC head coaches constantly wanting Talles Magno to play as a striker. He is a winger, and nobody seems to understand that. And despite the intention of signing Bénie Traoré to play as the striker for the time being, he is mostly used as the left winger. However, he has had a slow start to life with the Boys in Blue and has not done well. So, Jansen should not start the newer Designated Player, and instead should play Magno as the left-winger and Luighi as the striker.
