The busy September continues for NJ/NY Gotham FC. After beating San Diego Wave FC away from home, the Bats will stay on the road to face Vancouver Rise FC Academy in Canada. This will be their first meeting, and the NWSL team wants to continue their fantastic form in the CONCACAF W Champions Cup. They already won their first two games, with the last one also on the road against Alianza Women FC.
In addition, fans should again expect a highly rotated squad. Players like Sofia Cook, Josefine Hasbro, and Sarah Schupansky should all start. At the same time, it would not be shocking to see someone from the San Diego match, like Lilly Reale, start again. Other players, like Ann-Katrin Berger and Rose Lavelle, will probably not see the pitch.
Regardless of who plays, Gotham should, on paper, beat Vancouver Rise. The first team plays in the Northern Super League, which is a top division in Canada, while the Academy plays in the League1 British Columbia, a semi-professional league. For this competition, players from both teams are playing, but mostly from the League1 BC team. But compared to the NWSL, neither is as competitive of a league at this time. But with that being said, crazier things have happened in the beautiful game, so the Bats must play as if they are playing a top side. It would not be good if the ladies were lackluster and they subsequently lost.
But likely, Gotham FC will not have that issue, for it seems like things are clicking for the NJ/NY side. As such, as long as they play as they have been, then they should secure the win.

Final Notes
It would be a great match for Gotham FC to score multiple goals since they are behind the Washington Spirit based on goal differential. So far, they have only won 2-1 and 2-0, while the Spirit have won 7-0 and 4-0. The Bats need to pile on the goals if they want to catch up with their fellow NSWL side.
