Throughout the year, families and friends like to go on vacations. Whether it is a long weekend or a week or more away, taking time away from everyday life can be a nice escape. Then, when fans can, it is great to go to a road match to see New York City FC play. So, when one thinks about the 2026 Major League Soccer schedule and some common times to go on vacation, trips can be planned around the Pigeons.
Therefore, there are some great times in the schedule for NYCFC supporters to leave home. Here are some vacations that supporters can go on in 2026.
Vacations for NYCFC fans in 2026
Nashville, Tennessee
Nashville is known as Music City, and the Pigeons will travel there and play their final game before the pause for the World Cup. Fans could watch NYCFC play Nashville SC on Saturday, May 23, and spend a long weekend in Nashville since it is Memorial Day weekend. More importantly, it would be ideal for the Boys in Blue to win this time after they played to a draw there in 2025.
There is live music everywhere, whether on the street, at a bar, or in a venue. The Grand Ole Opry is full of history, and there are multiple museums that can be visited. There is also so much food that fans could find some great restaurants. For those 21 and older, there are breweries and distilleries that can be toured.
Since the game will be over Memorial Day weekend, there might be specific events surrounding the holiday. As such, this would be a great time for NYCFC fans to explore Nashville.
A New England summer road trip
While there are not too many summer road trip opportunities due to the World Cup, fans could take a New England road trip in August. NYCFC will play the New England Revolution on Sunday, August 23, and this would be a great time to explore the states to the northeast of the Big Apple. With multiple states, cities, and towns to choose from, this could be a family road trip.
Of course, the main city that fans could visit is Boston, which is a little over half an hour away from Gillette Stadium. They can explore the historic city, and the history lovers would probably love everything related to the Revolutionary War, from museums to visiting certain locations.
Boston should not be the only stop. While many NYCFC fans live near or can access beaches rather quickly, fans could explore other beaches along the coast. Then, they could also go up into the mountains of Vermont or New Hampshire. They could visit other cities, like Providence, Rhode Island, or beautiful seaside towns like Newport, Rhode Island. It might not be exciting like the next option, but the Pigeons can design the trip to fit what they want.
Spooky Season in Orlando
The last destination would not be an option for those with kids in school, but for everyone else, they could head to Florida during Spooky Season, right before Halloween, to experience the time of year in Orlando. NYCFC will play Orlando City SC on Saturday, October 24. As such, supporters can visit the area that is known for the Halloween festivities, especially at the theme parks.
Those who can visit at this time can visit Disney World or Universal Orlando Resort. There are multiple parks to choose from at each location, and both have Halloween events throughout October.
Disney is considered more friendly and tame, while Universal is perfect for horror fans. But NYCFC fans can also experience the thrills and joy from either theme park, and then watch their team on the road. Hopefully, they can shock the Florida team and win there as they did in 2025.
