At the end of extra time, there is no winner. And now, penalties will decide the winner.

———

118′: The Revs tie it at 2-2. This just went horribly wrong.

———

113′: Taty Castellanos is sent off after a foolish challenge. No matter what happens, that’s a huge development.

———

110′: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLLL!!!! IT’S TATY CASTELLANOS!!!! NYCFC LEAD 2-1!

———

One half of extra time down. NYCFC are running out of time to find a winner before the dreaded penalties.

———

———

91′: We’re off in extra time. No changes for NYCFC, for some reason.

———

We’re going to extra time.

———

90′: This game hurts to watch. Two minutes of stoppage time.

———

82′: In a shocking turn of events, James Sands comes off for Tony Rocha.

———

68′: Huge save from Sean Johnson! This game is wide open.

———

64′: Maxi hits a post. Turner denies Santi. This is unbearable.

———

63′: Jesus Medina flubs a huge chance. Inexcusable.

———

57′: Dangerous from the Revs. Tayvon Gray left Tommy Mac open at the back post. Luckily, the header is off target.

———

49′: Santi tests Turner. The American keeper is equal to it.

———

46′: Second half is underway! Can the Boys find the winning goal?

———

HT: NYCFC and the Revs enter the locker room, tied 1-1 at halftime.

It was a lightning start for the Boys in Blues, with Santi Rodriguez scoring inside three minutes. Unfortunately, their lead was short lived after a NER goal in the 9th minute.

This has been neck-and-neck thus far. It’s anyone’s game.

———

22′: Medina misses a sitter. Typical.

———

9′: Goal, New England.

Well, that didn’t last long. Buksa scores for the Revs on a free kick header and ties it all up. 1-1.

———

3′: GOOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLLL!!! City strike early!

Tayvon Gray centers the ball to Santi Rodriguez, who finishes it cool as you like! NYCFC lead early, 1-0! LET’S GO!!!

———

1′: WE’RE OFF IN FOXBOROUGH! Strap in, folks. This is gonna be a crazy ride.

———

Rosters are out!

Not much of a surprise, but NYCFC have decided to go with the hot hands, fielding the same lineup that took the field against Atlanta last week. I’m sure all of our collective palms are sweating. See you there!

The time has arrived — New York City FC travels to Foxborough, Massachusetts to take on the New England Revolution in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. In what could very well be the biggest game in their entire history, NYCFC could very well be looking at this game as the MLS Cup Final come early. By all calculations and provided data, the Revs are the strongest and most dangerous team in the playoffs, especially home at Gillette Stadium. Should New York City be able to pull off this kind of upset, it could very well be considered the hardest part of the job done.

But for Ronny Deila & Co., every last resource must be dedicated to this match tonight. That might sound a tad too obvious, but if Deila isn’t prepared to throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at the Bruce Arena-led New England, it’s all but guaranteed that the Boys in Blue will be sent home to start building towards 2022.
